President Muhammadu Buhari has recently, renewed the appointment of Dr. Ahmed Adeagbo, as the Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre Owo, Ondo State for the second and final term of four (4) years with effect from April 8, 2022.

The approval was conveyed in a letter signed by the Honourable Minister of State for Health, Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari, and was presented to him at the Minister of State’s Conference Room, Federal Secretariat Complex, Abuja.

Dr. Mamora while congratulating Adeagbo on his reappointment disclosed that Mr. President, in his wisdom, and upon the recommendation of the Ministry of Health, decided to give him a second term in office because he was found eligible. He enjoined him to always have it at the back of his mind that people will remember him more, for what he did in his second tenure than what he did in his first. This, the Minister said, is because he has been judged to have done well. "Your second tenure is for you to consolidate on whatever achievements you made during your first tenure and even do more".

The Minister reiterated the need for the MD to cultivate a good working relationship with the State Government and host communities especially the Commissioner for Health who is not only a statutory member of the board, but also a close contact to the Governor, because the hospital stands to benefit and gain more when there is cordiality. He further charged him on the need to build interpersonal relations with his colleagues and board of management to enable smooth engagements and ensure that the hospital continues to provide quality health care services. In doing so, he should also pay attention to his health and family life.

Earlier, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, Mr. Mahmuda Mamman, while congratulating Dr. Ahmed, said that he had performed creditably well during his first tenure but expects him to do more. He charged him to continue to work as a team and not in isolation, "keep up the good work that you have started, i implore you to be diligent, ensure that you keep to the extant regulations particularly when it comes to procurement process and disciplinary matters, because these are some key areas that cause a lot of problems ".

Ahmed, expressed his appreciation to the President and the Ministry of Health, for his re-appointment, and pledged to justify the trust and confidence bestowed on him by working hard to leave a legacy that he would be remembered for.
