DR. MAMORA COMMENDS BOARD & MANAGEMENT OF FMC OWERRI FOR THE COMPLETION OF LANDMARK PROJECTS
The Honourable Minister of State for Health, Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora has commended the Board and Management of Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Owerri for the successful completion of landmark projects at the Institution.
Dr. Mamora while commissioning the projects in Owerri, Imo State, attributed its successful construction and completion to the eloquent testimony of good leadership, great commitment, diligence, harmonious working relationship and prudent management of resources by the management and board of the institution. The commissioned projects include: a Dialysis Centre; 33kva Transformer; MRI Complex; Research Centre; Isolation Complex; Incinerator; 10 Bed ICU Equipment and a Neurosurgical Ward.
The Minister said that while government continues to support in the infrastructural development of the hospital, the institution should also explore the avenue of engaging the private sector, through Public Private Partnership. He thanked the host community for the cordiality and peace conducive for growth and development of the institution.
Dr. Mamora also commissioned a newly built FMC Owerri, Outreach Centre in Umuamusa, Njaba LGA as well as foundation laying for the construction of staff quarters for the Outreach Centre. The people of the community who were overwhelmed with joy stated that this was the first of its kind in their Federal and State Constituency, Local Government and its entire environment.
They went further to confer on the Honourable Minister of State for Health, the Chieftaincy title of “EZE-ENYI” by His Royal Highness Eze Benjamin Chukwuemeka Onwusuruaka (Igbudu 1 of Umuamusa) in conjunction with Umuamusa Progressive Union (UPU) and Eze in Council for his contribution to the development and well-being of the people of their community.
